WASHINGTON, June 16 (Reuters) – Current turmoil within the cryptocurrency market underscores the “pressing want” for regulatory frameworks that cut back the dangers posed by digital property, a U.S. Treasury official stated on Thursday, as buyers pulled property out of the sector.
“Treasury is monitoring exercise within the crypto market. We imagine the current turmoil solely underscores the pressing want for regulatory frameworks that mitigate the dangers that digital property pose,” the official advised Reuters.
“We proceed to work intently with our regulatory companions, as they take motion below their current authorities, and provide steering and experience as Congress considers laws to additional tackle these dangers.”
